Adjunct instructors, independent scholars who do not hold academic positions, and all those for whom conference attendance would pose financial difficulties and who have no access to other funding are invited to apply for travel grants to help defray the costs associated with attending the SMT Annual Meeting. Students are not eligible to apply for this grant. Typically up to 5 grants are made, with a maximum award of $400. Preference is given to those who are presenting a paper and have not been awarded this grant previously.
